             2010 CLOSED FUTURITY RULES
ALL OWNERS AND EXHIBITORS OF FUTURITY ENTRIES
MUST BE MEMBERS OFHORSEMEN OF IOWA, INC.

Closed Class Rules:

1. All expenses for the 2009 EOF Stallion Auction and a share of the 2010, 2011, 2012 EOF Show designated for the foals resulting from the breeding fees sold at the 2009 Auction will be taken from the 2009 Stallion Auction proceeds. 60% of the remaining balance will go to the 2010 weanlings, 20% to the 2011 yearling halter and yearling longe line, 10% to the 2012 2-year olds. Horsemen of Iowa will retain 10%.
2. There will be no additional entry fee for the closed portion of the weanling futurity. ALL ENTRIES MUST BE MADE BY AUGUST 1, 2010. Any entries made after this date will be charged a late fee of $50.00. There will be a $40.00 entry fee for the yearling halter and the yearling longe line futurities and the purse will be 20% of the auction net proceeds plus the entry fees. There will be a $40.00 entry fee for the two year old snaffle bit class and the purse will be 10% of the auction net proceeds plus entry fees.   Any entries not checked in by 9:00 am on the day of the futurity will be charged a penalty of $100 per class entered.
3. The original foals nominated by the stallion and mare owners will be the only ones eligible to enter the closed futurities. A foal need not be shown every year but, once nominated, is eligible through its two year old year, regardlesss of ownership.
4. Payback is based on the number of entires as follows: 1 entry pays 1 place, 2 entries pays 2 places, 3-5 entires pays 3 places, 6-9 entries pays 4 places, 10 - 11 entries pays 5 places, 12 - 13 entries pay 9 places.
5. The weanling purse per class will be determined on a per entry shown basis.
6. Closed weanling halter classes will be split in divisions of "fillies" and "colts". In the event of 6 or more entries in the filllies or colts, the class will then be split early and late. The classes will be shown as Late Fillies, Early Fillies, Late Colts, Early Colts. All breeds will be shown together in all classes.
7. Ties will be combined and the payout split equally.

          Health Requirements: Native Iowa horses may be exhibited without any testing or Certificate of Veterinary Inspection, if they originate from a herd not under quarantine and are apparently free from any symptoms of infectious or communicable diseases. All equine originating from outside the state of Iowa, weaned and/pr 6 months of age, shall be accompained by a Certificated of Veterinary Inspection listing a description of the individual animals; and indicating that each animal had a negative official equine infectious anemia test within 12 months of the futurity. The testing laboratory and date of test must appear on the Certificated of Veterinary Inspection. Any evidence of warts, ringworm, draining abscesses, or any other contagious diseases will eliminate the animal from the futurity.

2010 OPEN FUTURITY RULES

1. Open Futurity entry fees will be $40.00 per class. Open futurity classes are open to any stallion's offspring.
2. Open weanling halter classes will be split in divisions of "fillies" and "colts". In the event of 6 or more entries in the fillies or colts, the class will then be split early and late. The classes will be shown as Late Fillies, Early Fillies, Late Colts, Early Colts. All breeds will be shown together in all classes.
3. Payback is based on the number of entries as follows: 1 entry pays 1 place, 2 entries pays 2 places, 3-5 entries pays 3 places, 6-9 entries pays 4 places, 10 - 11 entries pays 5 places, 12- 13 entries pays 6 places. 14 - 15 entries pays 7 places, 16 - 18 entries pays 8 places, 19 or more entries pay 9 places.
4. All expenses for the futurity show will be pro=rated on a per entry shown basis.
5. Horsemen of Iowa, Inc. will add $250.00 to each open class. In the case of a split of the Open Weanlings, $250.00 to each split.
6. Ties will be combined and the payout split equally.

All decisons make by the HII EOF Committee
will supersede all written Rules or Procedures.
